The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, also known as the Greater Cincinnati Airport, served over 7 million passengers last year. The airport, founded in 1942, currently operates a main terminal and two concourses. Underground trains run every 90 seconds to connect the two concourses.
Main Terminal
The Main Terminal is located across from the airport’s parking garage, and is made up of two levels. The top level includes ticketing and security, which is used by outbound passengers. The lower level consists of the baggage claim, parcel pick up and car rental, and it is used by inbound passengers. Also, non-ticketed visitors may wait to meet inbound passengers in the lower level of the Main Terminal.
Concourse A
Concourse A serves passengers with flights on American Airlines, United, U.S. Airways and Air Canada. The concourse includes gates A4 through A22. Several food and shopping options are available to travelers. For dining, Concourse A includes two pubs, two fast food restaurants, a Starbucks and several vending machines. Three convenience shops are also available to visitors, as well as a shoe shining service, a lounge for members of the armed forces and a children’s play area.
Concourse B
Concourse B is larger than Concourse A and serves passengers with flights on Delta, Air France, Apple Vacations and Vacation Express. Gates B1 through B39 board from Concourse B. The concourse includes a full food court, as well as 20 different shops. Travelers in Concourse B can visit the bank and exchange currency. The concourse also includes a shoe shining service and smoking lounge.
Additional tips
Because the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is a smaller airport, airport personnel recommend only that passengers plan only about 30 minutes to connect between flights.
Free Wi-Fi is provided in several spots throughout the airport, including in the ticketing area, baggage claim area and at every gate.
